Post Ileostomy Reversal.

I had upper rectal tumor, Jan 2018, had radiotherapy, followed by surgery. I had 24 of the closest lymph nodes removed, due to 4 showing the cancer had spread I had 6 months of chemotherapy. My follow up blood markers and scans were clear, so I had my reversal in Aug 2019. I have been very lucky so far, after 2 days my bowels started to function properly, just twice daily, solid stools. From my first surgery I have eaten anything and everything. I lost 7kg after my first op due to ileos and infection, but quickly returned to pre op weight, then put on 10kg during chemotherapy.I still have another 3 years of close monitoring. Can't fault the NHS in UK.
