Post Cancer Fatigue

Hi everyone.

I've been in remission from colorectal cancer for 3 years now - stage 2/3 - treatment entailed pre surgical chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, then post surgical chemo.

im now finding myself feeling more and more exhausted, Even getting out of bed & getting dressed every day exhausts me. My GP is just telling me to be more active as that'll make me feel better, I've tried, but any activity wears me out for days.

Im wondering whether chronic fatigue syndrome is a possibility, I already have Fibromyalgia & type 1 diabetes, but this is the worst it ever felt? Does anybody else have any experience of this who could give my any advice, my GO seems to dismiss the possibility, but it's not him who has no life at the moment?

Thanks

  • Hello Duranie1985,

I'm glad to hear you are in remission but I'm sorry you are experiencing fatigue.

When I read your post I thought about a link we have on our website that might be of interest, it talks about cancer-related fatigue and ways of addressing it, you can read more about it here.

If you feel like talking to someone on the phone might help, do call our cancer nurses on this telephone number: 0808 800 4040, available Monday to Friday (except during bank holidays) from 9 am to 5 pm.

    I hope this helps Duranie1985.

    Best wishes,
