Pleural Mesothelioma

Hi, I have never posted before on these forum's, so forgive me if I get this wrong. My husband was diagnosed with Mesothelioma this time last year, and underwent the normal four courses of chemotherapy at The Royal Marsden in Chelsea - where the cancer (or tumour), managed to dissappear, meaning that by October 2016, he was described by Doctors st Marsden as 'normal'. Following a check up in January of this year - the tumour has begun to grow again, to 28mm in size. The Consultants are not too concerned with this at present, only monitoring it for the present, with another appointment in April for a further CT scan, and to see the team after ten days for the results.

My question is this : Are there any others' out there with a similar diagnosis, if so what are your experiences, and how do you manage every day ??

  • Hello, I'm so sorry to hear of your Husbands diagnosis. My father was Diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma in 2015, he did have a few rounds of chemo but it was stopped by mutual agreement. He is 73 years old and still putting up one hell of a fight! it has put limitations on his lifestyle and mobility, but we manage, it is humbling to see his resiliance and defiance of the odds, some days we laugh some days we curse it. but he's still here and not planning on expiring just yet, where ther is life there is hope, adapt as you go.
