Plasmablastic Lymphoma - non hodgkins.

Hi, has anyone had  experience of or know anyone with this diagnosis? I have this cancer of the sinus, I am told it is very rare but would really like to hear from anyone who knows anything about this. I am due to start a severe dose of DA-EPOCH chemo in a couple of weeks.

  • My dad was diagnosed 4 weeks ago aged 75. He has stage 1 in his gum and is due to start DA-EPOCH chemo on Wednesday
  • Hi, so sorry to hear about your dad, i hope it all goes ok for him. Since writing on here i have had a roller coaster time. Chose a wig, had my hair cut and had all the scans and bone marrow samples and focussed on chemo. When i attended the hospital i was told i was misdiagnosed and have a different cancer so now on a very different route and have just finished radiotherapy but thank you for responding to my message.

  • Hi User1,  I’m back on this site due to the return of my husbands cancer.  May I ask you how you go on with the r da epoch treatment,  husband has had first week treatment and is now feeling really awful, especially sore mouth.  How did you cope?

  • Hi, so sorry to hear about the return of your husbands cancer. The week I was due to go in for chemo I was asked to attend an appointment and was told I had been misdiagnosed, hair cut, wig chosen. My sinus cancer isn't Plasmablastic Lymphoma but Plasmacytoma which is far less severe and after two surgeries I was treated more directly with every day for six weeks radiotherapy which I've completed and await results but I am told it's looking good. Such a turnaround. I'm sorry I can't give any information to help you and your husband but all I would say is hit it with everything you can. I cut out sugar completely, introduced a wide variety of fresh foods like the rainbow diet, raspberries, mango, green tea, pineapple, kale, avocado, grapes which are said to make a difference. Drinking lemon juice in boiled water with fresh ginger etc. I rested when i needed to but made myself do excerise every day even if it was just a walk in fresh air to the end of the path and back. I drank and still do, 2 litres of purified water a day to swish out toxins. I've hit it with all i could, friends and family have willed and prayed for me to get better, I even went for a personal blessing. I don't know which part of my efforts have helped to cure it but I am sending thoughts of strength to you and your husband, keep positive and try whatever you think may help but in my opinion diet is like fuel and positive thoughts help the mind grow stronger and control the body. Read up on things like alkaline eating and which foods support his type and most of all, be strong.
