I can understand your current concern. Infections in the breast are common, and antibiotics are needed. Your GP can re assess you after the antibiotic course has finished. Ectasia is a non cancer condition where mammary ducts can get blocked behind the nipple, and get infected. Sometimes infections can persist, and a referral is needed to the local breast clinic. Less commonly, minor surgery is sometimes needed to remove tiny breast ducts.
