Hi Dmarie, I had a 10cm ovarian cyst 20 years ago. It was due to endometriosis. The cyst and my ovary were removed as the ovary was no longer functioning. A smaller cyst was also removed from my other ovary. I went on to have two children and a normal menopause. 

I have had bilateral ovarian cysts removed they were complex so solid.Apart from left sided pain and upset stomachs l had no idea until they were found during a colonoscopy..After referral to gynaecology oncology they cysts were removed in 10 weeks. Unfortunately l had extensive adhesions and removing them took 4 1/2 hours. After a 5 week wait my surgeon told me that they were benign it was a big relief and does show they can be. 
l hope you have a similar experience

Hi everyone,

I met with the surgeon today and she confirmed I will need both ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed, this will happen in the next 4-6 weeks, the ovarian cysts found appear to be fluid filled which should mean good news. I won't get the all clear until the pathology results are in after the operation. Anyone else had this experience with a good outcome?

I had a similar size ovarian cyst removed about 9 years ago. They told me they would need to remove the ovary too (just one) but when they got in there they managed to save the ovary after all.

It was day surgery - keyhole surgery. 

Hey, how did it all turn out for you? I'm going thru the same thing just now. I have 9 and 7 cm cysts on my right ovaries and a few on my left between 5 and 7cm, they are waiting for an mri appt to come thru for me to see if I have any more on my bladder and bowl but they're saying my CA125 levels are very elevated and I will need both tubes and ovaries removed and go on HRT. They took biopsy's when they were putting a Mirena coil in to to see if that will help the bleeding etc until my surgery dates Come thru but my anxiety is thru the roof, panicking Incase it's something worse and at least 3/4 days a week in floored in pain x
