Hi Vix, I had gabapentin a few years ago for a back problem and to be honest I felt so drugged up I had to come off of them. I went into our local town one day came out of a shop to leave and couldn't remember where I had left my car!!! I wondered round for a good hour wandering what to do. I couldn't function and I felt high then very tired. It certainly worked for the pain but not very good for everyday functioning. But drugs work differently on different people you just need to try it.

I am certainly fearful of the drugged up effect.

When you stopped taking it, were you given any alternatives?

Hi

I have just started on Gabapentine for post surgery nerve pain. I tried co-codamol and tramadol but neither could touch the pain. The Gabapentine however is the business. Why not try at bedtime initially to see if it helps. I haven't really had any trouble with it although I may just be lucky. I hope that you get something sorted out soon.

I have taken the step and am taking the galbapentine at night , 2nd day in now , feeling a bit dizzy but I managed to walk for an hour yesterday before I started getting pain, which is amazing for me. 

I am increasing the dose by 100mg each night so I'm just taking it steady
