Hello guys

While I wait for my scan I have noticed on my referral letter that it says that my lump on my neck as about 3mm. I stupidly googled this and to me it seems like it's nothing to worry about but I haven't slept for 3 nights due to worry.

I know no one can diagnose me on here but I just feel like I'm going mad and have convinced myself theres a problem! I'd really appreciate it if anyone that has been through what I am at the moment could just give me an insight on their experience and what to expect after the ultrasound on my neck

  • What are you worrying about? Death? We are all going to die at some stage. You're in the system now so if there is something wrong you will find out. In the meantime, seeking help for anxiety might be a good idea given the number of posts you've written. No one on this forum can alleviate your sleeplessness nights sadly but perhaps there are forums for anxiety.

Before my dad's terminal diagnosis I used to worry about all the things that might go wrong. But it is futile because life will probably hit you with something you never expected anyway... There are many people here for whom your anxieties are daily reality.

  • Hi there,

I posted earlier today regarding this / the small neck lump! I had the ultrasound today and was worried sick - they said it was tiny (literally around the same small size as yours - less than 5mm in size) and it was absolutely fine. It is either a small cyst or a tiny lymph node that's slightly closer to the surface of the skin x

  • Hello [@Worrier1245]‍

I'm sorry to hear that you're still worried about the lump on your neck despite the reassurances that your GP has offered you.

I can see from previous posts that you struggle with managing anxiety and I wanted to give you the link to Anxiety UK who will be better placed to support you with this.

Cancer Chat is a space for people affected by cancer. The community have tried to be supportive of your anxiety but as we have previously explained there is nobody here who can help you. We suggest you seek out help for your anxiety and should you need support for a cancer diagnosis in the future you are of course welcome to come back but we would ask you at this time to discontinue posting.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
