Hi Everyone. Just an update as I am now into my 4th session of EOX chemotherapy. I have stage 4 cancer in the stomach lining and the lymphs and the peritonitium. I weighed in at diagnosis at 9 stone 6 lbs in old money. 62.4 kgs new money.  I was only eating half sized meals and getting some regurgitation hence loss of weight. I am now 10stone 5lbs. 65.6kgs. And eating like a horse. I am 70 years old and still going to the gym (CrossFit) which is hi intensity exercise (with consultants permission although he did say the question had not arisen from someone my age ). Anyway I am going for a CT scan next week and am very positive things are moving in the right direction. I am aware that at stage 4 there is not a lot of chance of getting rid of it all but if I can keep working (full time) and going to the gym I will be very happy with that. Just wanted maybe to give some hope to people in the same position and wish everyone the best in our fight   Eddie

  • Great to hear that you are doing so well, Eddie. While all that any of us can do can do is get on with life, carry on with treatment and suffer the anxiety of scans and test results, your approach to this is genuinely uplifting. Thanks!

  • Thanks Harry I do try to have a positive approach and our gym are doing a sponsored row of 274 km on the 30th July and up to now we have raised just short of £1000 plus gift aid of £230 towards Cancer research so hope this will help with getting this disease sorted at some time. Eddie ps the length of the row is the length of the River Tees and back as that is the area I live

  • Hello Think we've spoken before. My fella has exact same cancer and had 4th round of EOX too, unfortunately this chemo hasn't worked, although he's been able eat which is weird xos he struggled greatly before chemo so we thought it was working!?!? Anyway onwards with the new chemo regime starting Tuesday. He has also been in christies with a bout of ascites and had nearly 10 litres drains off....he States he feels like a new man! Please keep In Touch and all the best for the CT scan x
