I had the oncotype test done following my surgery for primary breast cancer, to help my oncologist determine where or not I needed chemo, my cancer was hormone positive but HER negative. It's all done in house so,does not really involve you, they just need your consent.  It added another three week wait to the situation which as you know can be frustrating. Unfortunately my score still came back border line, so I needed up having chemo. My theory was if it gave me a chance of avoiding that harsh, horrid treatment it was worth doing.

Thank you for replying, i'm sorry to hear you're having to have chemo, but as you say, if it gives you the best chance it's worth it, and yes, the waiting for results is the worst bit. Wishing you the very best.

Hi Barkell,  I was diagnosed with Breast cancer in August, had the lumpsectomy and was grade 3 stage one with no cancer in Lymph nodes although they took 2 lymph nodes out, just had the DX test back and my result came back as 4 so dont have to have Chemo as they would be overtreating my cancer. Goint to start Radiotherapy in early Dec followed by hormone pills and another pill to stop brittle bone.  I am 64 years old and my BC was hormone +,  i was dreading it coming back saying i hd to hve Chemo but did not worry about the test coming back as i got myself into a place to say whatever it comes back as i will deal with it.  Hope your comes back under 25 also.  Dont worry over it take each day as it comes, no use worrying yourself too much or you will make yourself ill.
