Oesophageal cancer & eating

Hi,

A real strange thing going on.

Husband diagnosed with stage 2 Adeno  last week.

Awaiting treatment plan, but he has eating issues, but they are ‘odd’

He has seen a dietitian and we are following some of the recommendations

But he vomits at the same time of day, but not every day.As he took just 1 mouthful of food tonight it ,was minced chicken with loads n loads of gravy that set him off.

Some days he will eat a full fry up, cake etc and be fine, as it is earlier in the day.

He was vomiting about a month ago every evening, then it stopped for about 3 weeks and now started again

What  is going on here- any thoughts, I am really confused

Could there be a psychological element here?

Any advice will help

thanks

  • Hello Hilts

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's recent diagnosis and the problems he's having with vomiting. Stress can do all kinds of strange things to our bodies so it could be possible that there may be an element of anxiety impacting things.
I'd suggest keeping a daily diary to see if you can identify a pattern. It will also be helpful for the clinician if your husband needs support with this problem.

You're welcome to call our nurses if you'd like to chat things through with them. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I do hope that things settle soon.

    Best wishes,
