It depends on what sort of operation you are being offered.
Check out the Rayb thread - it's a bit of a party over there with the majority having had an operation over the past year, so feel free to ask away. I had an oesophagectomy 3 months ago.
I received my diagnosis on Tuesday. I am having a PET on Wednesday and that will hopefully inform the surgeon s9 a decision can be made about treatment. An open radical resection has apparently been removed as an option althoughI am not sure why (I received a copy of a letter sent to my GP and another surgeon in the post this morning where it is mentioned)
