Numbness at the left side of mole

hi everyone, I'm desperately looking help. So, I have had a large mole on my right leg (just below the knee facing outside) since I've been born and have always been told to keep an eye on it (which I have).. I contacted my doctor about a month ago as one side around my mole is numb and had hurt abit when i bent my leg - she told me to send her a photo which I did and said it looked fine but to come back if it continues any longer. I recently gave birth and thought well if she thinks it looks ok it must be.. 
 
 

well now the pain when I bend my leg has gone but the numbness was ok for awhile - has now came back and my leg now hurts abit when I walk (although I wondering am I overthinking and panicking over nothing? my appointment is for over a week but feel I can't wait any longer and don't know if I should maybe get seen by a&e or hold out until the 8th June? also has anyone else had something similar  to this and were they ok?

    Hi Meg,

    A mole that's cancerous doesn't usually cause pain or numbness but it's good that you have an appointment to get it checked out. Unless the pain can't be controlled with over the counter pain medication, I wouldn't bother going to A&E as they don't deal with dermatology problems and would only consider a scan for tissue/bone problems. Maybe see if you can bring forward your GP appointment? 

    Has your mole actually changed other than the numbness/pain? Moles can change during pregnancy due to hormones so it's good it's getting checked out. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

    Thank you so much angie for replying to my message! Awk ok then yes I will phone first thing on Tuesday morning and see if my doctor can see me any sooner and hopefully put my mind at ease no I wouldn't say so, the size and colour has stayed the same thankfully, it's just these latest symptoms.
