Not sure what this means

I recently attended for a repeat LLETZ having been told CIN 3 and CGIN were there and after first LLETZ the margin was positive.

after repeat procedure histology shows further CIN 2 and high grade CGIN. And quote “unfortunately she still has a positive deep stromal margin,  the endocervical margin was positive and I have performed a TOP HAT which showed no CGIN.  The only margin positive appeared to be the deep stromal margin. Further excision treatment needed and once we have excluded any further CGIN she may wish to consider definitive treatment “

can anyone explain to me in simple terms - does this mean I have cervical cancer? I can’t get through to my surgery to speak to anyone

thanks

  • Hi Rsusie and welcome to the forum.

I'm not sure if you've managed to get through to your surgery since making this post but if not you're more than welcome to discuss this with our cancer nurses. You can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope you're able to find out what this means soon.
