No lumps but armpit pain?

Hello all,

I have no lumps, no changes in breasts etc. But I have pain in my armpit. It isn't there all the time, but I feel it throughout the day. Has anyone else had this? Is it just hormonal or could this be a sign of something else?

Thank you :)

  • Hi

I was wondering if you ever got anything back from this as I have the exact same thing. Been to the doctors once, she did an examination that was literally 30 seconds long. Have called them back and had a telephone appointments, where the nurse said it's a pulled muscle. Feel like I'm pestering them about nothing so don't want to call back but also I'm still getting the pain. It isn't there all the time and doesn't stop me from doing things, it's just like a dull pain and can't pin point exactly where it comes from. But then I keep worrying myself about it thinking the worst and it's just a vicious circle of thoughts really.

There's no lump that Ibor my husband can feel and it's not there all the time but it's still bothering me.

So just wondered if you'd got anywhere with it.

    Cheers

  • Hello DriverEl,

Sorry for the slow reply. I've got more blood tests today and having an examination on Friday. I saw the doctor last week but it ended up being about a different problem. So I'll let you know at the end of the week how I get on! I've got pain in my abdomen and legs now too, so who knows what's going on in my body!

  • This is so familiar. I'm sore under one armpit and have been for several months now, though no lumps or anything that I can find. It's not massively painful, more ongoing discomfort, kind of tingling or throbbing that comes and goes a bit. I've got  GP appointment tomorrow to see if they can feel anything I can't so will see what happens after that.

  • Hi all,

my blood tests came back all clear, the doctor had a feel of my armpit and said it feels normal. So it must just be my anxiety? Still having all sorts of pains though so finding it hard to accept.

Hope you are all well and getting the help and answers you need x

  • Hi all

I've been getting pain in my left armpit to, its been on and off for around 3months but seems to be happening more frequently, I also get pain around my chest wall area. I went to my gp last week and she had a feel and couldn't feel any lump but referred me on the 2 week pathway to the breast clinic, my appointment is 2nd December. I've been having quite a few health issues since I had my 6th and last baby 6months ago, I've got a fluid build behind my c section scar going up into my womb, and my legs keep swelling, I've also had a raised lymph node in my neck for about 4months, i have drenching sweats during the day, bruise really easily. I'm honestly terrified its going to be something serious, I seem to fit all the symptoms for lymphoma, I've got everything crossed it turns out to be something minor. I haven't told anyone whats happening not even my husband, I don't want anyone to worry so decided to tell them if I have to eg after I find out what I'm dealing with. If its nothing then no1 needs to no, but if its cancer then ill tell who I need to x

  • Hi,

I know this was all last year but can I ask what the outcome was for you guys? I now have these symptoms but the doctor can find no cause. The pain is not bad, comes and goes and it's hard to identify exactly where the source is. I'm sort of worried and not worried at the same time.

    Thanks.

  • Hi!
having recently been experiencing weird pains/aches and spasms in chest/arm/armpit I went to the docs all my bloods were normal and I was noticing palpitations. They think anxiety related (especially after the last year with covid worries) I had scans and ecg all fine. Think it's all in my head, try not to think about them too much, ibuprofen can help with swelling pain and aches.  Hope this helps you

  • Thanks for this. It's difficult because symptoms are mild it's just where the pain is that concerns me. Didn't think I had anxiety but I guess it's hard to self diagnose. Hope you feel better soon.x

  • Elou67 just wondered how you got on??? Hope your ok! The reason for my message I'm in a simile boat! My left armpit pain I would say started last year sometime when I was pregnant he is now 4months old. I can't seem to feel a lump but there defo tenderness and pain it randomly comes on and goes. I'm tempted to go to the doctors but wanted to see if anyone had similar as I not to long went when I was heavily pregnant I thought I had a dimple in my left breast which he said it was  a stretch mark. It's funny how I seem to get pain just on that left side occasional chest pains, pain in armpit and even the back of my arm.

I really hope you ok and it was nothing serious for you x

  • Did you end you end up seeing the doctor? I'm having the same thing and am supposed to hear from go tomorrow. So scared and anxious
