Newly diagnosed tn breast cancer

Hi, I'm 47 and was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer a month ago.  I live in Hong Kong but was diagnosed in the UK when I was home on holiday.

Having chemo at the moment, the cancer appears to have spread to one or two lymph nodes but no further according to the PET scan.

My brca tests have come back negative, as my tumour started at 2.5cm I'm told I can just have a lumpectomy although right now I feel like I just want a double mastectomy as I'm terrified of it coming back.  I have a 10 month old and so scared at the thought of not seeing him grow up.

I'm moving back to the UK in January so will have my op and radiation therapy there, just in the process of finding a surgeon.

I found the first couple of weeks terrifying and just felt like it was all a bad dream.  Starting chemo was a huge relief, I just wanted to start getting rid of it!  I'm having weekly chemo for 12 weeks (with a double dose every 3 weeks) and then move on to fortnightly for 8 weeks.

Thanks for reading.
