New and anxious

Hi

I had total duct excision from my right breast on the 24th July.  Due to bleeding from my nipple and I’m still waiting for the results.  Last year I had appendicitis, 3 months later I was told they found a stage 1 neuroendocrine tumour in my appendix but it was confined, however I have to be monitored.  I experience frequent hot flushes and extreme sweating, I’m 41 so they tested me for menopause but that’s come back negative.  Last month I was also diagnosed as B12 deficient.  I had a CT scan 2 weeks ago of my abdomen, pelvis and chest, I’m also waiting on these results.  On top of all this the wound on my breast is infected so I’m on antibiotics.  I’m an absolute mess right now, anxiety is so high.  Is there anyone that is/has gone through anything similar?

  • Hi Louonthespend

It sounds as if you've really been through the mill these last year. It's not surprising that you're feeling so anxious about everything.

I think that most all of our members here will be able to empathise with how difficult it can be waiting for test results. And waiting for two lots of results on top of dealing with a post op infection would be a challenge for anyone.

Do you know how long you the results might be or have you a follow up appointment booked? I do hope that you don't have to wait too much longer. If you think it might help to have a chat with one of our nurses about how you're feeling then please do call them. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Sending best wishes,
