Never give up

after going for my 6monthly ultrasound for observation on small stones in my gallbladder I was asked to go for a lower body ct scan due to a shadow showing on my right kidney, I was then transferred to a kidney specialist who informed me I have a small tumour on the top of my right kidney and they will plan to remove by taking top half of kidney out using robotic surgery but first will need a upperbody ct just to cover all bases. The results came back to reveal another tumour on my left lung to which I was sent for a urgent pet scan at local cancer centre. My results came back as both tumours are cancerous but unrelated and the best news I could wish for at this time is no spread to any other part of body when they told me that I felt like I'd won the lottery! Last week I was sent for a biopsy on lung tumour for staging were unfortunately my lung was punctured and collapsed so had to spend 5 days in hospital! Yesterday I met surgeon who is performing a vats lobe removal on 22nd of this month. After lung is sorted it's back to upper half of kidney removal! Now with all this going on family/friends keep saying why are you so calm? I tell them I see myself as so lucky these tumours were found as I have no symptoms whatsoever, yes the next 6mths are going to be tough but with the care and expertise of the many wonderful people involved I just know they will get me through.
