Nettle stings on cancer side

Hi, I.ve just come off my bike into a bunch of stinging nettles. I landed on my mastectomy side and have welts from under my arm to my wrist. It’s super painful right now but does anyone know if I should be worried? Or if there is something I should be doing? Thanks

  • I'm sorry about your accident firedragon. Stinging nettles are the worst :(

I hope the pain has subsided since you made this post but if you're worried then it may be worth getting in touch with your doctor to let them know what happened. If you do this they'll be able to examine you and put your mind at ease.

Hopefully some of our members will pop by soon to offer their advice but in the meantime I wanted to wish you a speedy recovery.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi,

Hopefully your arm has started to settle down now. If it hasn't, I suggest you see a chemist or your GP to ensure you don't have an infection. This is very important if you have had any lymph nodes removed as cellulitis can occur and you will need antibiotics. Good luck,

    Angie

  • I react badly to nettle sting now ,it is ten times worse than before ,i found a herb called woundwort and that helps a lot .I use it the same as dock leaf .as it works much better .Im worried about it too .
