needing help

Asking help on this site nearly always got helpful reply. But got nowhere contacting my GP.

Firstly I am deaf ,2nd housebound, 3rd live alone.

I have a daughter that comes fourtnightly she has phoned my GP lots of times to get pain relief fo me.

I found a Macmillan Cancer Support site seaching the net filled in an email form to ask for help.

A relpy was received two days later told me what to do...so waited for my daughter to come and phone my orignal nurse (but was also told I could phone 111)

A macmillan nurse came to see me,she arranged for my GP to come and asscess my needs .

GP come but only gave me anti sick tablets... Nurse phoned to check my needs were sorted,on telling her only anti sick tablets were prescribed another nurse came to see me said she will report the GP and request pain relief be sorted.

I await GP reply or prescription.

I hope this will help anyone having GP problems.

Best wishes to all

  • Hello Reet,

Thank you so much for sharing your story I am sure it will be helpful to others who find themselves in a similar situation. Poor you you really seem to have had a frustrating experience dealing with your GP. I am glad you managed to get that nurse on your side. I hope that by now you will have had a reply from the GP and the pain relief you clearly need sorted.

    Best wishes,
