Hi
i have had a breast lump for about 5 years, it's around the size of half a grape. I went for an ultrasound 3 years ago and they diagnosed me with a benign fibroadenoma. It's been fine and painless until the past few weeks, I've had an intense throbbing burning pain in it that's gradually got worse. It comes and goes throughout the day and keeps me awake at night. Painkillers don't really help.
I went to my GP last week and they gave me some antibiotics saying it may be an infected cyst, however these haven't helped at all and it continues to worsen.
I guess what I want to know is how accurate are these ultrasounds and does this sound like a sign of breast cancer? I have no known family history of it.
do you think I should go back to the GP and ask for another ultrasound?
thank you in advance :-)
