During chemo I had the same thing- everything- even water tasted awful - It was like having a burnt car in one's mouth. In the end avocado, Wotsits and soup were bearable. Not a great diet I know. The taste thing is one of the worst and least mentioned chemo side effects I think.
Wishng you all the best.
Most people have problems with taste, I thought everything tasted like cardboard no flavour at all then I tried ginger beer and it tasted lovely, and strong Currys.
Trouble is it can vary with the person and the type of chemo .
Hope you can find something that tastes okay and good luck with your treatment please let US know how things go with treat and good and drink.
Take care.
Billy
Hi Fofen
It's an unfortunate side effect with treatment and has pretty much happened to us all who has been though.
Even light foods like scambled eggs/creamed mash/pudding rice etc wil ensure you are getting calories and fuel into your body.
The way I looked upon food intake was to see it as medicine to get me better rather than food i would normally enjoy.
You could also try the food supplements like Ensure, but they are not for food lovers - but they do help fuel intake.
I have shown a link to my blog below that I hope may help as it outlines my journey from the get go and plenty of tips gleaned along the way.
kind regards
Ian
