His skin has got worse the last week , he has a great dermatologist a professor, he's made his skin bleed and I've given him antihistamine tablets , I'm so worried , Linda x

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Linda although I'm sorry to read that your brother's skin is so itchy.

Most members on the forum usually have contact numbers to get in touch with their medical team so do check with your brother to see if there is anyone you can contact about this on his behalf. The NHS 111 service is available too so do get in touch with them if you're unable to get through to anyone looking after your brother and they will hopefully be able to advise you and point you in the right direction.

I'm not sure if you brother is still having treatment but do not give him any medicine or tablets which may interrupt with this if he is. Until you're able to get in touch with someone creams may be the way to go so you could try speaking to a pharmacist about what may help to ease the pain and itchiness as well.

I hope this helps Linda and your brother's itching becomes more bearable soon.

    Best wishes to you both,
