my grandad has got stage C liver cancer

In the summer of last year my grandad had a small stroke which left him in hospital for a week. Three days into his hospital visit they found that he had a large mass on his liver which was proven inoperable. He was given sorafenib but decided to stop taking these as it made him too ill and we have been told he had been given 7months to live in August. He doesn’t have long left and that is becoming more apparent in the time we spend with him. I am really struggling to cope with seeing him fade away as it was all so quick and sudden. I’m sorry for the long post but I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to cope because at the moment I can’t. I can’t confide in anyone in the fear of them not caring and my parents are too upset. I hope some of you may be able to help me.

  • As I noticed this is your first post here I just wanted to stop by and welcome you to our forum, emily00.

I'm sorry to hear that your grandad has been diagnosed with liver cancer and that the prognosis is rather poor.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in the same situation with their loved ones with cancer will stop by soon to share their experiences and offer advice but until then you feel free to join the conversations already taking place here, everyone is very friendly and I'm sure they'll be happy to chat with you.

Wishing you and your grandad all the best,
