My dad has duodenum cancer

Hi everyone, I'm new too this website, but I feel it will help me. Having lost my mam 17 years ago too lukemia, my dad last year was diagnosed with this awful disease. Just before Christmas last year we found out it has spread to the liver. I go too every oncologist appointment with him. We were just their on Friday 9th April. My dad openly admitted that he has had a dull ache in his back for months now, but has kept it a secret from my sister and I. He's also become very slow whilst walking. They are now goons give him a scan and also a brain scan too. My sister and I are petrified that it has spread. My dad keeps on saying he just wants too be with my man now. Which is heartbreaking for the whole family.

  • A warm welcome to the forum Cushin although I'm very sorry about your dad's diagnosis.

This must be a very tough time for you all at the moment but I do hope the scans he has coming up will be able to bring some good news.

Hopefully some of our members will be along soon to offer their support and advice but if you, your sister or your dad would like to talk things through with our team of cancer nurses at any point, they'll be available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Our community are here for you Cushin and will do what they can to help you on this journey.

    Kind regards,
