My dad has brain metastasis

Hi everyone, Iv been reading the posts and not feeling so alone. In November 2016 my dad what we thought was a stroke followed by a seizure. After many tests he was diagnosed with grade 4 primary lung cancer with adrenal gland & brain metastasis. He has completely changed. What we are finding hard to cope with are the extreme behaviour changes. He has had 2 lots of chemo meant to be 4, but was stopped with a view to have an MRI scan and target the brain with radiotherapy. How do we cope with the behaviour? It's hard enough knowing the prognosis but dealing with such erratic behaviour is so tough for all the family. My dad is in complete denial of the seriousness of this and believes he will get through this. He is a very independent man but has just recently started saying that his left leg is giving on him at times. Any advice?
