My cancer story.

Hi All,

My story started last year when my mum was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. Getting the diagnosis was a long, drawn out, painful process but the the treatment and care followed very quickly. After 4 months of chemotherapy treatment mams about to have 10 days of radiotherapy.

I cant believe how quickly our lives have  changed, it's all so upsetting.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Claire.

I'm sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis but I'm glad treatment and care followed quickly once the diagnosis was confirmed. How has your mum got on with the chemo over the last 4 months? I hope it's been ok and she hasn't experienced too many side effects from the treatment.

It can be hard adjusting to the impact a family member's diagnosis can have on our lives but you are not alone. Many members here will understand how you are feeling having gone through this process themselves and hopefully they will post soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

Do come back and let us know how your mum gets on with her radiotherapy. We'll be thinking of you.

    Kind Regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
