Mum's chemo and chickenpox

My mum is due to start chemo next week (tue) and is having her pre-chemo  meeting tomorrow before her treatment starts.. Today I've taken my daughter to the docs and she has chickenpox! Bad timing... I've been around my mum most days for short periods of time and my daughter hasn't been with her since NYE. Is this likely to cause a problem with my mum's treatement I'm really mithering. Mum's going to ask at her appointment tomorrow about a blood test as she's having some done anyway... Mum and myself have both had chickenpox as children... Thanks in advance for any advice x

  • Hi Gembatch and welcome to the forum.

I noticed your dilemma and just wanted to stop by to give you our cancer nurses telephone number as they will be in the best position to give you advice about this. Their number is 0808 800 4040 and their lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m so maybe you could try to give them a quick call today and have your question answered before the weekend begins.

I hope your mum's pre-chemo meeting went well yesterday and I wish her all the best for next week.

    Kind regards,
