Mum has been diagnosed with breast cancer

Hi everyone

my mum has recently been diagnosed with a hormone positive invasive breast lobular carcoma on her right breast, she needs to have a mastectomy hormons treatment and radiotherapy. Just wondering if anyone has had this cancer. Or any off the treatments, I would like some information on personal experiences if that’s okay

  • Hi there ... try not to panic too much as theres lots of us on here with breast cancer and all at diferent stages and treatments ... I'm a grade 3 her 2 positive ... once you think positive and stop looking too fad ahead, it is do-able ... and wer all here to tell the story ...

So support your mum, as having someone right by your side is priceless ... and don't worry about admitting it is scary, esp early on ... Chrissie x

  • Thank you so much for replying ️ We are all here for each other and I hope your treatment goes well

    Hi Nichole,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am so sorry to hear about your mum's recent diagnosis. Do you know what stage her cancer is. The stages run from 1-4, with 4 being the more serious. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer. The first was 8 years ago and the second was 7 years ago.

The first time I had a lumpectomy followed by Tamoxifen (a hormone treatment). The following year it appeared in the same breast again and, I had a double mastectomy followed by Letroxole for 6 years. I just finished this last year.

If you go to the blue banner at the top of this page and click on search, then insert one of the words connected to your mum's cancer, it will bring you to previous posts on that topic, which you may find useful.

I am here if you have any further questons.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine

  • My mum did when I was little girl but she never had reoccurrence. Honestly growing up I never even noticed apart from her telling me to be aware and caring for my breasts. She found out she had it after birth of my brother
