Hi Laura, sorry to see that you and your Mum are playing the waiting game. All of us here agree that this is a horrible time and very difficult to deal with but unfortunately, until the results of the biopsy are confirmed, it is impossible for anyone to know what is causing your Mum's lump. As well as cancer it could be a benign tumour or simply fatty tissue so, as frustrating and frightening as it is for you, I can understand why the nurse did not want to speculate on what it might be. All I can suggest is that you try to distract yourselves as much as possible in the meantime by doing some fun stuff together, much easier said than done I know. All the very best to you both and do let us know how your Mum gets on, if you would like to.
