MRI Results

Hi everyone,

I am currently waiting for the results of an MRI I had done on the 1st of July. I was told the results would be ready in 7-10 days, and it is now 2 weeks since the scan. I also don't know whether to expect a call or letter..

I am deciding against the idea of 'no news is good news', though I'm sure if something was immediately life threatening I would have heard by now.

My question is - how long did you wait for your MRI results (especially if you got them during the pandemic) and how long should I wait before calling?

I'm trying hard not to worry about it but I've already googled everything under the sun, so too late for that I'm afraid :(

Hi L97, I would give the hospital a call and ask to speak to the secretary of the type of scan you had, for example if it was your lung then it will be reviewed by that department. The secretary can't tell you the results but can advise how near the top of the pile you are! Hope all goes well for you. Carol

Thanks for your quick reply!

I thought it might be best to call but at the same time I know there must be a huge backlog in scans because of the virus and I don't want to be a bother.
I might give it until the end of the week in case they have already sent a letter out or something.

I waited 2 weeks for my mri results which turned out to be mixed - I need a biopsy.... Good advice here to call the hospital. I guess by now you have got your results - Dom hope for the best for you.

Still no results :(
I'll call the hospital on Monday and try and see if they're in yet.
