I had an ultrasound assisted core biopsy, not too sure how much they differ but I can tell you is I found it completely painless ( and I am prone to being a drama queen)
good luck xx
Uncomfortable but not painful as they froze area when I had mine
Hi
I had ultrasound assisted biopsies and it really wasn't painful at all. I had a local anaesthetic which didn't hurt either! The doctors/nurses are amazing and explain everything they are doing which really helped me. I have to know all the ins and outs! It didn't take long but I am not sure of the difference with MRI assisted biopsy. I had MRI at a later date. Good luck and know there is lots of support here for you.

Thank you [@Marlyn] and [@Harvell] for your reply :) I too had ultrasound assited biopsy when i first found my lump and like you i found it painless just a bit of preassure. My MRI result found another 2 suspicious lumps that they want to do MRI assisted biopsy. I was curious and succumb to Mr Google and search for the procedure and found a video. The needle they used in the video looks gigantic and i start to panic!!
[@Peanutsk05] thank you for your reply too- can i ask how long was the procedure?

I hope dr google didn't put the fear of God up you....I hope the procedure is similar to the ultrasound one....you will have to let us know how it goes xxx
Hello everyone,
Sorry for the late reply- been hectic week, my last day of work today before i starts my sick leave and a lot of things to handover workwise. But now i can focus on getting better!
Had my MRI biopsy last Saturday- it was an experience! I didint feel anything other than when they injected the local anesthethic but after that all i can feel was some preasure. The equipment they use to get the sample made a drilling sound which made me laugh as it reminded me of my husband when he is using his drill to do DYI!
I am still waiting for the result, hopefully soon i will know more .
Thank you for everyone's reply

Glad that is over now....Also good you have been kept busy...but now you can concentrate on that road to recovery.....xxx
Good to hear you are still laughing! Now have a rest and spoil yourself. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the results. The waiting is the worst part but you will feel better when you know exactly what the plan is.
