I'm sorry you haven't heard anything from the hospital since they said they received the referral. I really do hope you get an appointment through soon but if you're worried, you could get in touch with the dermatology department to get an update and let them know you're willing to take any cancellations that come up as it may help bring your appointment forward.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will offer their thoughts and advice to you soon but if you'd like to discuss this with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Hi @Sheepladymermaid12. 

My wait from my initial doctors appt to having the mole took about 4 weeks to get my hospital appt and then it was another 4 weeks until I had my biopsy. You have noticed your mole and you are in the system its just the wait that can drive you mad, stay patient and im sure they will be in touch soon.

I was diagnosed at Stage 1a melanoma and have since had a WLE and another 2 moles removed (the latest one about an hour ago!) My results so far are all clear, please feel free to message me if I can help you with anything else x

Thankyou I know it's not just me waiting but like you say the not knowing drives you mad I am in panic mode trying to sort my husband and children out for when I'm not here. Not had a good experience with cancer outcomes in my family my mum died when I was 13 and my auntie 3 years ago 

I'm sorry to hear that; it's a nightmare not knowing, as the other Steph said maybe contact the dermatology dept and see if they can give you any answers, mine always give me my appointments before I get my letters through, maybe worth a try x

They have sent me confirmation of my appointment on line but they have sucj a back log because of covid just have to wait and see and keep fingers crossed x
