Metastatic colon chemotherapy + direct Liver treatment (hai)

Hi there,

Has anyone experience with a systematic chemotherapy combined with direct treatment of liver metastases by the sounds called Hepatic arterial infusion (hai).

I read about it in the US they seem to combine it as firather line treatment whereas in germany, where I am based,  they only use HAI if the systematic chemotherapy does not work anymore.

They say that you can achieve a higher response rate if you combine systematic chemotherapy  and HAI as first line treatment.

    As we're based in the UK I'm not sure if any of our members have experience the treatment you've mentioned but if there are, they will hopefully pop by soon to share their experiences with you.

    I noticed you said you were based in Germany. Have you come across any information about this treatment on any German websites? If you haven't had the chance to look yet or are unsure where to start, you can use this page on our website to have a look at cancer organisations and charities in your country that you could get in touch with about this.
