Hi Louise (I'm assuming you're Louise and fin is the lovely lad in the picture),

So sorry your Christmas was hit with this news.  There's no good time to get news like that but Christmas is hard as I know we all hold off on telling loved ones so as not to 'ruin their day'.  That makes this site especially important at this time of year.

I'm a breast cancer person but I did also find out on Christmas Eve that I may have metastases which means my cancer will have gone to stage 4.  Got the breast clinic tomorrow and really hoping it's just some random rash on my breast but preparing myself for the worst too.

If it helps any my friend (he's 41) has had melanoma a few times now and is still with us and well.  Like you he's fit and healthy (has an active, outdoor job) with young children.

Someone will come on soon no doubt with their own experience to help you, but just wanted to welcome you to the forum and let you know your post had been read.

I've just been fast tracked for suspected melanoma on my ear. I've already had an excision on my eyelid for a basil cell carcinoma which required a skin graft to fix. I'm 32, also with two young children. 

It would be good to chat and offer each other some support?

Hi Angie,

           Could you send me a friend request as I would like to talk to you about your experiences. I have a stripe in left toe that has widened over the last 16 months and my right toe is all brown. Visited ANP last March and was told it's toe trauma due to tight footwear. Went to see Dr last week and she promptly referred me to Dermatology and my appointment is this Tuesday. Very worried.
