LYMPHOMA B CELL BOWEL QUESTION

Hi Everyone

I just wanted some advise, I have just finished my chemo for Lympoma B cell, and have had ongoing bowel

issues with the treatment.  I am on a restricted diet for the time being, if I take laxatives to keep things

working easier, will my bowel get unused to work? awaiting scan results in 2 weeks. Doctor said I may

have scar tissue, hoping I dont need surgery. Thanks for listening

  • Hello Polly26.  I have been keeping an eye on your post - being incapable of giving you an answer myself I hoped that somebody else would.  It might be an idea to post your question in the Ask the Nurses section as I imagine they are best placed to know the answer.  And of course in the meantime someone who has been through the situation you ask about may be able to help you with this.  Best wishes.  Annie

  • Hi Polly,

I'm glad to see you've finished chemo although sorry to read you're having ongoing bowel issues with the treatment.

Your GP or medical team will be in the best position to answer your question so do get in touch with them to see if laxative will help. You can give our cancer nurses a call about this as well if you like. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040.

I hope this helps Polly and we'll have our fingers crossed you won't need surgery.

    Kind regards,
