Lung nodule changes

Hi .

Just a brief history.

I had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal in August of last year,  I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and because 13 of the 18 lymph nodes were cancerous I had bone scans and ct scan to see if the cancer had spread,  the bone scan was clear and the ct showed a shadow on my lung and kidney , the kidney turned out just to be a fatty lump requiring no treatment,  I had another ct scan 3 weeks ago to check the lung nodule,  the nurse rang me to discus the results and said the nodule had changed since the ct last year , she said they needed to do another ct scan in May to see if it had changed again and told me if it had changed again  I'd need to see the consultant to discus treatment .

I'm guessing that without them saying as much they suspect lung cancer because surely a benign lump wouldn't change?

As anyone had this and found it to be nothing despite it changing?

  • Hello EINaGu,

There's no way of knowing, but your nurse is suggesting a further test in May so they can keep track of things. I hope your appointment with the consultant goes ok and don't be afraid to ask questions. It might help to write down and bring them with you to make sure all your concerns are addressed.

    I hope this is useful,
