Lung cancer tarceva diet

I have stage iv lung cancer and i'm on tarceva. I stopped taking antacids as this interferes with tarceva from acting properly. I now suffer from severe heartburn which is really painful at night, I take zantac which does help but not with the pain. I would love to know if there is a diet which controls the heartburn but does not affect the tarceva? Any advice would be most welcome.

  • I'm sorry to hear that you're suffering from bad heartburn at the moment Granscotland. Have you let your GP or medical team know that the zantac isn't helping? If not do try to do so when you get a chance as they may be able to give you something else that may be more effective in managing the pain. 

    I would recommend giving our cancer nurses a call about this as well, especially to discuss dietary options. They are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040, which is free if you call from a UK landline. 

    I hope our nurses are able to help and that the heartburn becomes less severe soon.
