Lung cancer confusion

Hi all.my mam got all clear from bowel cancer.a year later had a routine CT scan.consultant said good news is you clear down there but I'm sorry you have lung cancer,I'll see you in 3 month.fast forward 5 weeks and after initial shock my mam phoned to speak to consultants head nurse.she basically said they found nuduels on top of lungs.it carnt be confirmed as cancer with out biopsy.she said they can take years to grow.she then said doctor *****.deals with bowels and not chest!she said when you come back in April if you are still feeling good he will probably not see you again for another 6!!we are totally lost..how could he say "you have lung cancer"when there's been no biopsy etc??we are so comfused

  • Jmcn80, I'm so sorry your mam is possibly having to contend with with a second diagnosis.

As there seems to be some confusion about your mam's situation do try to speak to her consultant or her doctor when you can so you can get things cleared up and get your questions answered.

In the meantime you're more than welcome to have a chat with our cancer nurses about this. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040.

I hope you're able to get some answers soon and wish your mum all the best for what may lie ahead.

    Kind regards,
