Hi Optomisticme
I noticed you've not had a reply so I thought I would say hello x
Im so sorry you've had cause to reach out for support on these forums! . You must be very worried because as you say the stats for lung cancer aren't great. New treatments and protocols are filtering though and there's always hope and good news stories. Not every body's story is a bad one. I can highly recommend the folks at the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Theyre a great support. I don't have their number to hand but Google or search on Facebook and you should find them.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. Yes I'm terrified. But I will check out the Roy Castle group and thanks again
Just wanted to say hi, and welcome ... you give it all you got .. wer all on this rollercoaster with you ... big hug Chrissie xx
Thank you for your contact.
Yes I never did like roller coasters It sure is a terrifying journey.
I know you wanted to hear a positive story, and I would recommend you refrain from googling about statistics, it won't do any good (I know how hard it is).
We have a family friend who was a practicing dentist and after age 40 got diagnosed with cancer that mestatisized to her brain. We were horrified. But this was over 10 years ago, and she's today still alive and doing well after treatment, cancer has not progressed. This was also in a country that's considered third-world right now.
Don't give up.
Hi
I don't have lung but have just been diagnosed with late stage endometrial and again the stats are rubbish. However best thing I have read so far is that you are a statistic of 1. I work in stats anyway and you can rearrange them to suit.
Keep focused on yourself, get all the support you can and best of luck to us both!
Very best wishes and big hugs

Your post reminded me of the quote attributed to Disraeli. Talking about the scale of untruths there are "lies, then damned lies and then there are statistics". I am sure you are very acquainted with this saying but it is as true today as it was then.
Ok I will take you as an authority on Stats and try to ignore them. Thank you
