I am sorry to read about your mum having lung cancer. My dad passed frm lung cancer just over  year ago and like your mum, he was initially stage 3, but because of it being in his lymph nodes they changed it to stage 4 and it was terminal. He was not able to have any of the cancer taken out, is this an option for your mum? My dad had the chemo and I honestly wonder if he's of lasted longer had he of not had it as it destroyed his body.

I would speak to her main oncology doctor as only he will know the specific details relating to your mum. I wish her all the best. xxxx
