Lumps in neck and groin

I have posted a couple of times over the past year as I feel like I haven't got anywhere. Admittedly this is my own fault for not following through due to Covid but the lumps are still here in my neck and armpits, they e grown slightly and now I have a few in both sides of my groin!

I was in hospital a couple of nights ago for an unrelated issue with my asthma and my blood test flagged up that my inflammatory markers are raised and my white blood count is 13,800. Is this high? The doctor said it is but I don't really know much about it. I'm not unwell so it's not infection I'm just exhausted constantly!

im going to see my GP again next week because I feel like I deserve some answers now it's gone on too long!

  • Hi,

I first had a lump in my neck underneath my earlobe and jaw and it was hard and I think due to the infection I had in my one ear piercing on that side but it still stayed even after the infection went, this lump didn't bother me much and didn't concern the gp either but the 2 lumps one each side of my groin did , I had a UTI infection which cleared with antibiotics and thrush but still remain , I had my bloods taken which showed that I had large red blood cells and I need more blood taken next week and my next gp appointment is next week but I've got a few lumps either side of my groin now and have slight pain in my groin and hip.

  • Hi Ladies.

Im in a similar boat. I have a swollen gland behind my ear and the first I ever known of it was last year after a horrible upper respiratory infection and then a blocked ear but for all I know it could have been there longer. But from when I first felt it a year. Its just the one and hasn't gotten bigger or smaller. How long have you had yours?

Im no Dr and I have the worst health anxiety but I have read so may threads now about swollen lymph nodes most people come back (if they do) and they have been benign. Really hope it's the case for us. It does sound like they can stay up after a horrible infection. My 6yr old son has them in his neck after viral tonsillitis. He's having a scan today to make sure these are just reactive. Fingers crossed they are. Xx

  • I have finally had an appointment today where I just don't get asked to repeat bloods! I've finally been referred for a scan as I now have a golf ball size lump above my collarbone. I just feel relief that I'm finally going to get answers. My first lump appeared about six months ago but was small and on the side of my neck so I tried to forget about it as they didn't seem concerned but the last 5-6 weeks it's suddenly grown and the whole left side of my neck and collarbone swelled up so I kept an eye on it until it got to the point where I thought this just isn't right so went back to my gp today

  • Glad you're finally getting answers. Hopefully it's just big due to an underlying infection. I'd like to think 6 months to a year we would have more symptoms if it was anything sinister.

My son had his scan yesterday he has 2 swollen nodes for the last 3months and the Dr was lovely and straight away said they're benign lumps. They happen. Sometimes they go and sometimes they stay.

I had my Dr app this morning. She said she wasn't concerned lump was squishy and small but I'm having bloods and a chest xray as a precaution. I wasn't even referred. Where I live there's a chest xray walk in unit.

Let me know how you get on x

  • I've had an unexplained fever of 38 for two months and I have awful fatigue it's like nothing I've experienced but again it could be a lingering infection. My white blood count is high also but so is my CRP so I'm baffled by this point
