Lumps in neck

A few weeks ago my doctor referred me to ent as I have a lump in my neck. I received my appointment a week ago which is for 24 Oct, however I noticed I also had ringing in my ear in the same side the lump is. My doctor had asked at the time was there any other problems coughs colds stuff like that but as it only happens at bed time or early in the morning when it’s quiet I never thought at the time to mention it, so I booked another appointment to tell them as my appointment is still 6 weeks away.

It was a different doctor I seen in my gp surgery, he referred to the doctors notes from my previous appointment and told me I had been put down as an urgent referral. I’m now waiting for them to phone me back as they said they would be in touch as soon as he had spoken to the first doc I’d seen. That was 2 days ago so should hear back soon.

I have just had another feel of the lump and to my surprise I have discovered another two lumps so now it’s like a cluster?

should I be worried about this.

I’d really appreciate some advice.

  • Hi Jaqui46,

I'm unable to advise on your situation - the best thing is to wait for the doctors' advice and to try not to worry until you know more, although I know this is easier said than done.

It's good that you are aware of things and that you have got it checked, with an appointment in the pipeline. See what the doctor says when they call back - at this time you can also raise your concern about the additional lumps to get some further advice.

The appointment may seem like a long time away but as it's an urgent referral it is quicker than it could have been, and I hope the waiting isn't too difficult.

    Wishing you all the best,
