Lump - right breast

Hi everyone, I have been reading my posts on here and have finally had the courage to post!

I noticed a lump under my right nipple towards the side (around 7 o clock location!) It was a small 1cmish and feels like a small hard marble and moves slightly.

I panicked and went to see a GP at the urgent care centre the next day who said she thinks it's most likely a breast mouse or fibroadenoma and is nothing to worry about. She said I should make an appointment with my gp in 2 or 3 weeks if it's still there.

I thought I could feel pain and and ache so I went to another one on Sunday and the GP said it's most likely a cyst or fibroadenoma and that I should see my own GP for a referal

I've been today and he's referred me within 2 weeks for an ultrascan but has also said it's to "Rule anything out" although he suspects it's nothing serious.

I am absolutely terrified! I don't have a history of breast cancer in the family, I don't have children nd I'm 29. I am noticing it's quite uncomfortable at times especially after prodding but with hind sight i think i may have felt a sharp pain or two months ago. I have done regular checks probably every few weeks or monthly so this seems like it is appeared quickly!

Has anyone had a similar lump and what were the results?

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Worriedbja.

I see from your post that you are worried about some symptoms you have. The best thing you already did which is to go and see your doctor about this lump.

When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers on an online forum, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better.  And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.

I hope this is helpful and that your next appointment will show you have nothing to worry about.

    Best wishes,

  • I thought I'd post an update...

The lump was nothing to worry about thankfully.
