Lump in breast

Hi good afternoon

about 3 wks ago I found a small pea sized lump in my right breast. I have had one before but in my other breast and after being checked and scanned i was told it was just fatty tissue , from what I recall the dr said because my breasts aren't fatty it was more apparent . I did disappear over time. I do have 2 aunts on my mums side with a history of breast cancer and my dad currently is living with colon/bowel/liver & stomach cancer altho I dont know how it would link to breast cancer but anyway , I've told my husband I'll go to gp after my period if it's still there. I don't seem to be able to feel the lump whilst laid down tho. Is this usual?
I do have painful breasts and the lump feels tender when touched .. any advice ? Pls and Thankyou ️ Also can this happen due to exercise like running ?

  • Hello Rach2304,

I think it would be a good idea to go and see your GP to get this checked out. Do mention that three weeks ago you found that small pea sized lump in your right breast and that you have a history of breast cancer in your family and that your dad is living with colon cancer. It is also worth explaining to the doctor that you have painful breasts and that the lump feels tender when touched. Your doctor will also be in the best position to answer your question as to whether there is a link with exercise and running. So don't hesitate to get in touch with your doctor when you can and I hope you can get this looked at soon by a medical expert.

Best of luck with your appointment. We are keeping everything crossed for you,

    Best wishes,

    Hi Rach,

I fully agree with all the information that Lucie has given you. Your breasts will become more painful the more frequently you feel them. If you find that you can find a lump one day and, not the next, try soaping your breasts well in the shower when they are wet. You will find that this is more reliable and less painful.

Try not to examine your breast continuously. Maybe just leave it to once a month and see how that goes. Do make an appointment with your GP and see what s/he advises.

Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

I hoping and praying that all turns out well for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
