Low platelets after radiotherapy

Hi all , my mother has had non Hodgkin lymphoma for 5 years now, over that 5 years she has had chemotherapy 3 times but cancer keeps coming back . This year she has also had radiotherapy (june) now her platelet are very low and DR wants to do a biopsy. We live in the Channel Islands which means mum has to travel to a uk hospital for all this treament, mum is now 74 and is saying she does not want to carry on with all this treatment. Please can someone out there that may have had similar treatment advise or share their experiences. Thank you

  • I just wanted to stop by and give you a warm welcome to our forum, Tanyamarie.

I'm sorry to hear that your mother has been dealing with non Hodkin lymphoma for the past five years and that she no longer wants to carry on with her treatment. Hopefully, some of our members who are going through a similar situation with their loved ones will come here shortly to share their experiences with you and offer advice.

In the meantime feel free to post as much as you need, there is always someone here to listen.

Best wishes to you and your mother,
