Losing my sister

Hi Everyone, I lost my sister a few months ago to this bloody awful disease,  I’m finding it so hard in trying to come to terms with it. It’s such a hard time for me at the minute. I feel like my heart has been ripped out and that  nothing will ever be the same again.  My life has been totally shattered and turned upside down.

  • Hi Steph,

Thankyou for your reply, It’s been nearly 3 months on the 28th of this month, it’s not easy, I think about her every second of every day, She was the best, most kindness selfless person you could ever meet, and just feel my heart has been ripped out. I miss her so much, and just don’t know how I’m getting through each day knowing she is not here anymore. Truly heartbroken.

  • Hello.  Sorry to learn of your sister's death.  You don't say how old you both were but whatever the age sisters generally have a special relationship; alll kinds of secrets shared when younger; somebody who totally understands you.  As the years go by it is sad to lose anyone with whom you had a connection - another depressing sign of time's passage but the loss of a sister - with the same shared memories and knowledge - really must hurt.  I hope you have other family around who will support and try to help you.  Annie

  • Do you feel angry?  I lost my sister to pancr. Cancer. About 7 years ago.  Still not over it.  When it happened I used to punch walls and punch my legs to deal with the anger I felt inside.  So unfair.  Wish my sister had been a little less awesome, had she been an awful sister it wouldn't hurt so much

  • I'm so sorry .  44 is no age at all.  My sister was 49 when she passed and I was so angry that she was take. So young.  God bless u and your family
