Living with metastatic breast cancer

Hi,

My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago that has spread to her lymph nodes on her right side. She had a unilateral mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy as well taking a pill.

Unfortunately, we got the news 3 weeks ago that mums cancer has returned in her liver and spine. This came as a complete shock and upset us all very much.

But I am determined to remain positive and have hope! Does anyone have any advice? Or is there anyone that is living with mets and has advice on treatment or general well being?

Any advice and comments would be amazing to hear! Thank you

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Sam although I'm very sorry to hear your mum's cancer has returned.

I know you're wanting to hear from others in a similar predicament so I just thought I'd put you in touch with the lovely [@mare]‍. She has been living with metastatic breast cancer for many years now and is a very helpful and supportive member of our community so hopefully she will pop by when she can and share her story with you.

In the meantime you can find out more about metastatic breast cancer on our website or chat about your mum's diagnosis with our team of cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
