Just waiting to die

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago I reported some pains to a telephone call with GP, left breast pains, full arm ache, I was told this sounds like a muscle pain. Shortly after that I was rushed to hospital with severe heart pains and heart beat reaching 130 bpm, I told nurse I had been experience heart and breast lumpiness, had bloods taken and chest X-ray everything good sent home with tachycardia (high hate rate) no painkillers or anything.

a few weeks on after my period I have had severe headaches cannot fully turn my head to the right and swollen and painful lymph nodes in left armpit. I have reported this to another GP via phone and they have dismissed symptoms as "not sounding too serious"

I want to be checked and made sure everything is okay but not being offered this?! I have had no previous medical history and I am 21. Why are they ignoring my symptoms and cry for help? At this point I am just waiting to die as it feels like that's what they want to happen before they realise anything is wrong with me

By the way this is during covid19 pandemic so this is the reason for only telephone calls with doctors

any help or advice is really appreciated

  • Hi Rebecca,

I can see from the time of your post that you have probably not slept and been awake worried.  I am in a similar boat at the moment.  Phone your GP again, explain your concerns and see if you can be seen or at least speak with them again.  I managed to get seen yesterday by my GP after spending the previous evening in A&E.

im not sure if it's right of me to do this, but there is a forum where people speak about similar experiences which I have found very helpful.  It's called no more panic.  I'm not promoting their site but just trying to offer you some comfort.

take care and I hope you feel better soon

  • Hello Rebecca,

l think if you are not reassured by the checks they have done for you,x ray ,presumably of your vital organs, and bloods both clear, you need a clear explanation of the reasons creating your physical symptoms. It is difficult in the current circumstances to get a face to face consultation, but another call to your doctor and ask them to justify your current symptoms as being non serious, and explain their thinking for the cause behind them. Increasing Anxiety will do little to reduce heart rate and chest pains so you really should seek reassurance,

                                                                                     take care,

                                                                                                           David
