I know how you are feeling because I've been there myself, and so have most of the people posting here. An unexpected diagnosis is always a shock but waiting for test results and not knowing what the problem is, is much worse than finding out. Your mind goes into overdrive.

Try to stay calm, treatment is available for whatever it turns out to be and you are being given fast track priority.

It's good that you are being given an appointment really quick, it means that your case is being taken seriously, but it doesn't mean that it is cancer or that they already know for sure what the cyst is. They may need more tests. Ovarian cysts are very common. Some are benign.

You are being followed by medical staff and you'll soon get to know what treatment they recommend. It is likely they will recommend surgery to remove the cyst, but that is not a difficult thing to go through as I found out myself when I had 30 cm of my bowel removed. I had disconfort but not much pain and I was on my feet doing my usual things after 3 weeks. Another woman in my ward (in her eighties) had an ovary removed and she was on her feet and walking around after only 3 days. A week after her surgery she went home to carry on living independently... so, not a big deal.

Stay strong. Don't be scared. Whatever happens you have the medics on your side as well as all of us here.

I really appreciate you replying back to me, i think you are right its the not knowing part its really horrible its been driving me insaine all night been up thinking the worst  and iv got to soilder on through today yet untill i speak to the doctor tomorrow im trying so hard to keep it together but apart of me wants to break down so bad.... im so sorry to hear what you went through hope your doing ok now and thankyou for your nice words means alot xx

Hi I have a 20cm by 17cm fluid filled cyst on my left ovary. All my blood tests have all come back normal an I've also had an mri scan done. I'm seeing my gynecologist on Friday to discuss things further an I have my pre-op on the 7th of january. The waiting g is the hard part xx

Hi Katie wow thats big i dont know how big mine is yet iv got the doctor ringing this morning i also had a blood test done a few weeks ago and it come back my white blood cells are high i hope all your appointments go well good luck xxx
